The much loved little Australian breed commonly known as the Mini Foxie was officially recognised by the ANKC in 1992 and given a new name, the
Tenterfield Terrier.
Coolamin Kennels are now registered Tenterfield Breeders
At Coolamin kennels we select our breeding dogs for affectionate temperament, intelligence and beauty. We prioritise conformation and soundness and take great care in selecting healthy dogs that have great personalities and comply with recognised Breed Standards, but first and foremost, our 'fur babies' are
much-loved family pets.

Coolamin Tenterfield Terriers is a small, family owned kennel located on our farm at Inverell in north-west NSW and we had been breeding mini foxies since 1994.
In order to continue to improve the quality and soundness of our puppies by having access to a wider gene pool, we became members of DogsNSW and moved into showing & breeding Tenterfield Terriers.
We became Registered Breeders with Dogs NSW and now have a new kennel Prefix

However most things haven't changed at Coolamin. Our 'fur babies' still spend their days playing in our large country garden, getting 'group hugs' and escorting us on adventure walks on the farm. Riding in the ute or on the quad bike are also high on the to-do list!
We call these amazing little dogs, 'character dogs' because each one has a delightful and unique personality.They are a loyal, long-lived breed and it is common to hear of these dogs reaching 16 or even up to 20 years of age. They thrive when pampered, cuddled and adored.
Most of our dogs have a short, soft, translucent coat and the pigmentation of the skin can sometimes be seen through the white hair. This type of short coat makes them particularly suitable as house dogs because their coat does not tend to shed or smell when damp.
We aim to breed top quality Tenterfield puppies with great temperaments, personalities and conformation and our puppies are sold to approved homes only. All puppies are vet checked, vaccinated, micro chipped and wormed and come to their new families with a puppy information pack.
Purchasers are always welcome to speak to the vets who care for our dogs about their health and soundness and the management of our kennels.
